Face ID, Stolen Device Protection, Activation Lock and Apple’s tightly controlled ecosystem make it particularly attractive when your phone contains access to domains, email, banking and authentication apps.

Best for:
Security and Apple users.

Google Pixel 11 Pro XL — Google Everywhere
If your working day already looks like:
Chrome → Gmail → Drive → Sheets → Gemini → Chrome
the Pixel makes a lot of sense.
Google controls the hardware, Android, Gemini and most of the cloud services you are probably already using.
AI: Gemini
Cloud: Google Drive / Google One
Security: Titan security + Android theft and scam protection
SIM: physical SIM + eSIM / dual eSIM where supported
Stylus: No
microSD: No
Two WhatsApps: Yes
Best for:
Google Workspace and AI-heavy domain research.
Gemini can research companies, summarise pages and help compare information.
I would still hesitate before giving it permission to register domains automatically.

Foldables are where this becomes genuinely interesting.
Open the phone and suddenly you can have:

The last combination should probably come with a warning.

Neither is particularly interesting because it folds.

What About the Foldable iPhone?
Apple’s foldable deserves its own section when it officially arrives.
A large foldable display combined with Apple’s security could make it extremely attractive for domain work.
It will probably also cost enough to make you wonder whether you should simply buy another premium domain instead.

A phone may last three or four years.
Your domain archive should last much longer.

Google Drive — probably the cleanest option for Workspace, Sheets and domain documents.
Samsung
Google Drive + OneDrive + Samsung Cloud — maximum flexibility.
Or maximum chaos.
Depending on your filing habits.
One More Thing: SIM Security
eSIM makes it harder for someone to physically remove your SIM from a stolen phone.
But no smartphone can completely prevent SIM-swap fraud at the mobile operator.
For important registrar accounts, use authenticator apps, passkeys or hardware security keys whenever possible.
Because protecting a €2,000 phone with SMS-only 2FA while it contains a €100,000 domain portfolio would be…
an interesting investment strategy.
