Some books explain a subject. Others make you realize that the subject is much bigger than you thought.

David Chelly’s Stratégie Web : Le rôle central des noms de domaine belongs to the second category.

Published in 2020, the book looks at domain names from several angles: technical infrastructure, SEO, branding, domaining, legal issues, and naming strategy. What I especially like is that it does not treat a domain as a simple address on the web. It treats it as a real strategic asset something that can affect visibility, identity, credibility, and the long-term structure of an online business.

For anyone interested in domain names, this is the kind of book that deserves a place on the shelf rather than disappearing into a browser tab. It is practical, multidisciplinary, and clearly written by someone who knows the industry from the inside.

And my copy now has something no PDF can really reproduce: a handwritten message from David Chelly himself.
