October 1, 2026, 9:00 a.m. — Slovenia’s national .si domain registry reported 13,062 new domain registrations in just 24 hours, as the extraordinary registration wave around the country-code extension continued to accelerate.

According to the statistics displayed by Slovenia’s official .si registry, the zone had reached 239,134 registered domains.

The same snapshot showed:

  • 13,062 new .si domains in the last 24 hours
  • 46,066 new .si domains in the last month
  • 239,134 .si domains registered in total
  • 92 .si registrars

The 24-hour figure alone represents approximately 28.4% of all new domains shown for the entire previous month.

That is a remarkable concentration of registrations in such a short period.

The .si Rush Is Not Slowing Down

Only a short time earlier, Register.si was already reporting exceptionally high daily registration numbers. By 9:00 a.m. on October 1, the figure had climbed to 13,062 domains in 24 hours.

For a country-code extension such as .si, this is far from normal everyday registration activity.

Whether the surge is driven primarily by domain investors, speculation around the letters “SI,” artificial-intelligence terminology, automated registrations, or a combination of factors, the result is visible directly in the registry statistics: thousands of names are disappearing every few hours.

For domain investors watching the extension, the situation has turned into something resembling a live experiment in scarcity.

Yesterday’s available domain may quite literally not be available today.

A Small ccTLD Suddenly Has a Very Big Story

Domain registration spikes happen from time to time.

But when a national registry starts reporting five-digit daily registration numbers, it becomes more than a normal fluctuation.

It becomes a story worth watching.

The big question now is not whether the September .si rush happened.

It clearly did.

The question is:

How far can it go before the wave finally slows down?
