In domain investing, every renewal is a decision.
Some domains are worth keeping.
Some domains need more time.
Some domains should be dropped.
I started thinking that maybe life works in a similar way.
Not everything deserves another year of my attention, energy, money, or emotions. Some habits help me grow. Some people support me. Some routines make my life cleaner and calmer. But some things only take space in my mind without giving anything useful back.
So I decided to make a small personal experiment.
I will test a few simple rules on myself and gradually share the effects. I am not saying these rules are perfect. I am not saying they will work for everyone. I will simply try them in my own life, observe the results, and let you, the reader, decide what might be useful for you.
Less
1. Less Time With Dementors
By “dementors,” I mean people who leave you feeling colder, weaker, or more tired after every conversation.
They may complain all the time.
They may criticize everything.
They may make you feel guilty.
They may quietly drain your motivation.
Sometimes they do not even do it on purpose. But the result is still the same.
My rule is simple: less communication that takes away energy.
I do not need drama. I do not need conflict. I do not need to explain everything. Sometimes the best decision is simply to create a little more distance.
Like a bad domain in a portfolio, not every connection is worth renewing.
2. Less Envy
Envy is dangerous because it can look like motivation.
Someone bought a better domain.
Someone sold a name for more money.
Someone built a website faster.
Someone already has traffic, income, confidence, or success.
It is easy to look at other people and feel late.
But another person’s path is not proof of my failure. It is only proof that different paths exist.
I want to spend less time comparing and more time learning. If someone is doing well, I can study what works instead of using their success as a weapon against myself.
3. Less Living Inside Failures
Failures are useful only when they teach something.
After that, they become heavy baggage.
I can analyze a mistake.
I can learn from it.
I can change my next decision.
But I do not want to keep renewing old failures in my mind again and again.
Some past mistakes have already expired. They do not need another emotional renewal.
More
1. Better Expense Tracking
The first thing I want to improve is expense tracking.
Not because I want to become greedy. Not because I want to panic over every small purchase. I simply want more clarity.
Money often disappears quietly. Not always through one big mistake, but through many small automatic decisions.
When expenses are written down, reality becomes visible. And when reality becomes visible, it becomes easier to make better choices.
In domain investing, renewals can slowly eat a budget. In life, small expenses can do the same.
I want to know where my money goes.
2. A Cleaner Daily Environment
Hygiene is not only about the body. It is also about the space around me.
Clean clothes.
A clean desk.
A clean screen.
A clean room.
A cleaner mind.
Sometimes order outside helps create order inside.
I want to see how better daily hygiene, cleaner surroundings, and a more organized workspace affect my mood, discipline, and energy.
A good domain portfolio needs cleaning from time to time. Maybe life does too.
3. Better Health Habits
Health is often ignored until it starts asking for attention loudly.
I do not want to wait for that moment.
More sleep.
More water.
More movement.
Better food.
Less heroism at the cost of the body.
This is not a promise to become a perfect person. It is only a small attempt to respect the body that carries me every day.
A domain can be renewed later. Health cannot always be restored so easily.
4. More Supportive People
I want more time with people who make life feel possible.
Family.
Friends.
Good readers.
Honest supporters.
People who do not laugh when you try again.
Supportive people do not always solve your problems. But they help you feel less alone while solving them.
This is important.
A good environment can change the value of everything. Even a good domain needs the right buyer, the right project, and the right timing. Maybe people are the same. Around the right people, we become more useful, more alive, and more ready to continue.
Why I Am Doing This
I do not know what the result will be.
Maybe I will have more energy.
Maybe I will feel less stress.
Maybe I will save more money.
Maybe my mind will become clearer.
Maybe nothing dramatic will happen.
But I want to test it.
Sometimes a personal experiment is more honest than giving advice to other people.
I will try these rules, observe the effects, and share updates over time. You do not have to copy everything. You do not have to agree with everything. You can simply read, compare, and decide what fits your own life.
In domains and in life, not everything is worth renewing.
Some things should be kept.
Some things should be improved.
Some things should finally be dropped.
