Creating a company is one thing.
Knowing what you are supposed to do after the company exists is another.
I created Pavel Domains in July 2026 with Legalstart. Once I had my Kbis, bank account, registered office and accountant, I discovered something obvious in retrospect:
French bureaucracy does not end when your company is created. It begins.
That is where Zen by Legalstart became useful.
Zen is essentially a personalized administrative calendar. It shows upcoming obligations, explains what needs to be done and, for some procedures, helps generate the necessary documents.
For someone starting a first French company, this is surprisingly reassuring.
Instead of trying to remember:
- What do I need to declare?
- When is the next deadline?
- Is this something I must do myself?
- Does my accountant handle it?
- Did I forget something?
I can open Zen and see a timeline of what is coming.
What I like
The best feature is also the simplest:
the calendar.
Zen turns administrative obligations into individual tasks instead of leaving them scattered across emails, government websites, accounting software and notes.
It has already helped me keep an eye on things such as the CFE, tax administration formalities and future corporate obligations.
For a new entrepreneur, that visibility has real value.
What could be better
Legalstart now has several services around the same company: Zen, Legalstart Assistance, legal obligations services, accounting and other products.
Sometimes it is difficult to immediately understand where one service ends and another begins.
Since I also use LS Compta, I would particularly like every Zen task to clearly say:
You do this.
Your accountant does this.
Legalstart does this.
That small distinction would make the service much more useful.
My experience so far
My experience with Zen is still relatively short, so this is not a long-term review.
So far, however, my opinion is positive.
Zen does not run my company for me.
It does something simpler:
it helps me remember that running a company involves much more than running the business.
And in France, that may be worth quite a lot.
