Night is a dangerous time for a domain investor.
The house is quiet.
The inbox is quiet.
Everyone else is sleeping.
And suddenly a domain you ignored all day starts looking like the opportunity of a lifetime.
I drink both coffee and tea, but sometimes I feel I should finally choose one.
Coffee is for action.
One cup and suddenly I can:
- search hundreds of domain names,
- compare registrars,
- check WHOIS at 2:17 a.m.,
- research obscure keywords,
- and convince myself that buying another 20 domains is not spending money it is “building inventory.”
Coffee gives you energy.
Unfortunately, sometimes it also gives your registrar revenue.
Tea is different.
Tea feels slower.
Tea says:
Maybe we should look at this domain again tomorrow.
And for a domain investor, that may actually be a valuable financial feature.
So perhaps the real difference is simple:
Coffee helps you register domains.
Tea helps you reconsider them.
My current strategy?
Coffee when I still genuinely need to work.
Tea when I should probably stop buying domains.
And if I am drinking both after midnight?
The portfolio is probably about to grow.

— Dalai Lama
Maybe “sleep on it” is also one of the cheapest domain-investing strategies ever invented.
What Do You Drink While Domaining at Night?
Coffee? Tea? Both?
Or something completely different?
Tell me in the comments what you drink when you work on domains late at night. This is important research for me. Honestly…
